UNITY GAIN BUFFER
These instruments feature a unique Unity Gain Buffer built by CAE Sound.
Designed by John Cutler, this preamp buffers the high impedance output of the guitar pickups and provides the low impedance drive necessary to send the signal to the effects pedal with no tone loss.
The transparent and glassy, sweet high end of this new preamp make it a clear match for these guitars. It works with the instrument to bring out harmonics and overtones.
The added Gain knob on the guitar allows the player to dial in the right amount of gain, from unity to 6db.

ACTIVE / PASSIVE SWITCH
The mini toggle switch allows the player to truly bypass the preamp and play completely passive. This gives you the best of both worlds and basically doubles the tonal pallet.
Also with this feature the player can have the Gain knob set at a desired output and while playing passive, hit the switch and go to boosted signal, of up to 6db.
Included is a custom audio taper concentric volume pot that has both 500k (passive) and 25k (active) values by Vishay.
